We want you to get the care you deserve.
Sonya Snow, LPC,
Meet Sonya Snow, LPC
Welcome! I’m Sonya Snow, a Licensed Professional Counselor, relationship specialist, educator, and speaker.
I believe that some of the most important choices we make involve how we heal, how we relate to others, and how we learn to understand ourselves.
Life is always filled with choices. Yet when we are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or simply carrying too much for too long, those choices can become difficult to see. We may find ourselves repeating familiar cycles of stress, hurt, fear, frustration, disconnection, and emotional exhaustion.
My role is to help you understand those patterns, make sense of what you are experiencing, and create healthier ways of moving forward.
With more than a decade of experience, I work with individuals and couples using a warm, relational, culturally responsive, and evidence-based approach. Therapy with me is collaborative. I believe people deserve a space where they can be honest about what hurts, curious about what needs to change, and supported as they develop the insight and skills necessary to create meaningful change.
Relationships, Trauma & Emotional Wellness
My work has a particular emphasis on relationships, trauma, emotional wellness, and life transitions. I help clients explore how past experiences can influence present-day emotions, behaviors, relationship patterns, boundaries, attachment, communication, and the ways we respond to stress.
I have specialized experience working with childhood and adult trauma and understand that trauma does not exist in isolation. Culture, family systems, identity, relationships, faith, and lived experiences can all influence how we understand ourselves and the world around us.
Using evidence-based interventions and narrative approaches, I help clients process painful experiences, increase self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and strengthen their capacity for resilience and connection.
I also work extensively with couples and provide premarital and marriage counseling, helping partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, rebuild emotional connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. As a Gottman Seven Principles Program Leader, I incorporate research-informed relationship principles and practical tools designed to help couples deepen friendship, manage conflict, strengthen intimacy, and build relationships that are both healthy and resilient.
Faith & Therapy
For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian faith and Biblical principles with clinically sound therapeutic practices. Faith can be an important source of meaning, strength, identity, and hope, and I believe it deserves thoughtful exploration rather than assumptions.
Christian counseling with me is not about judgment or having all the “right” answers. It is about creating room for honest conversations about faith, relationships, emotional health, disappointment, healing, purpose, and our relationship with God.
For clients who prefer traditional counseling without explicit faith integration, that choice is respected as well. You do not have to share my faith or beliefs to feel welcomed, heard, and supported in therapy.
My Approach
I hold a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and am a Gottman Seven Principles Program Leader, with advanced training and experience in trauma, relationship dynamics, Christian counseling, and culturally responsive care.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief:
People heal best when they feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to be vulnerable, and empowered enough to make different choices.
My goal is to create a peaceful, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can show up authentically, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and begin making intentional choices toward healthier relationships and a more fulfilling life.
Whether you are seeking support individually, navigating challenges in your relationship, preparing for marriage, working through trauma, or simply realizing that something in your life needs to change, you do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy.
We can start right where you are.
If you are ready to explore what healing, growth, and healthier connection can look like for you, I would be honored to work alongside you.
Let’s connect.
